Elisa - My Reviews and Ramblings

elisa.rolle74@gmail.com

Hi there, and welcome! I’m Elisa Rolle, a reader, reviewer, archivist, and passionate advocate for LGBTQ+ literature and history. For years, I have dedicated my digital spaces to celebrating queer voices, documenting historical love stories, and reviewing the books that move me.

Whether you know me from elisarolle.com or my long-running blog, Reviews and Ramblings, I'm so glad you stumbled into my corner of the internet.

What I Do

📚 Book Reviews & Ramblings

Reading is a vital part of who I am. On Reviews and Ramblings, I share honest, in-depth thoughts on the books I read—with a heavy focus on LGBTQ+ romance, fiction, and memoirs. I believe that representation matters deeply, and I love helping readers find their next favorite queer story or discover incredible indie and mainstream authors.

🏛️ The Queer Places Project

Beyond fiction, I have a deep reverence for our collective history. My website, elisarolle.com, serves as the home for my extensive research into LGBTQ+ history. Through projects like Queer Places, I document the physical locations, homes, gravesites, and monuments tied to historical LGBTQ+ figures. It’s my way of ensuring that our ancestors' lives, loves, and legacies are never erased from the map.

✍️ Author & Archivist

My passion for history and storytelling eventually culminated in writing. I am the author of Days of Love, which chronicles the real-life love stories of same-sex couples throughout history.

👗 The Gene Marshall Collection

Beyond history and books, I have a massive soft spot for mid-century glamour, which shines through my extensive collection of Gene Marshall fashion dolls. Created by artist Mel Odom, Gene captures the quintessential elegance of Hollywood's Golden Age (the 1930s through the 1950s). Tracking down her intricately designed outfits, documenting her cinematic storylines, and photographing her timeless style is a creative joy that beautifully complements my love for retro aesthetics and storytelling.

My Philosophy

"History isn't just a collection of dates; it's a tapestry of real people who loved, fought, and lived authentically against all odds."

I build these platforms to be safe, welcoming spaces for anyone who loves romance, respects history, and believes in the power of queer visibility. I firmly believe that by understanding our past and celebrating our current stories, we build a prouder, more connected future.

Let’s Connect!

I am always looking to connect with fellow bookworms, history buffs, authors, and publishers.
